Our Farm Box Policies

Welcome to our farm box program!  Farm boxes are a great way to support local agriculture as well as get high quality food - and conveniently!

By purchasing a farm box, you agree to follow these terms.  They help us make sure we are all on the same page and make it run smoothly.  If you have any questions you can always contact us at 406-285-8939 to speak to Michael or Roxanne.

Farm Box Schedule

Farm boxes are ready every two weeks. The week before your farm box is ready, you will have the option to customize your farm box. The store is open to customize your selections until Friday at 4pm. After your farm box is delivered, your credit card will be charged. If you do not make customized selections or put your subscription on hold, a default box may be chosen for you. Please make sure to check your email, add us to your contacts, and whitelist us. We also send out text reminders if you have not placed your order.

Farm Box Delivery/Pickup

Farm boxes are ready every other two weeks. Pickup at the farm is 275 Old Town Rd. Delivery to your home is available for a fee if you live within Bozeman, Belgrade, Manhattan, Logan, or Three Forks. We reserve the right to cancel delivery if you are not located within reasonable distance from the interstate. We also offer pickup at select Farmers’ Markets.

Add-ons

We offer the option to add products to your order that are not included in your subscription. These are priced in $. Once the deadline to modify your order passed, you will not be able to add or remove these products.

Automatic Renewal

Many other farms use a pre-paid CSA model where customers pre-pay for several months. This requires a significant amount of payment up front for customers. We do not use this model, as we want to offer flexibility to our customers to cancel at any time and make changes as they see fit.

We just ask that you commit to regular automatic renewal of your farm box. This helps us in planning the products that we will produce as well as helps ensure a more predictable income for the farm.

If you need to make changes to your subscription, you can do that provided that you give make these changes in your account prior to the order deadline (11pm one week before your box is ready).  Once the deadline has passed and your order has been submitted, no changes can be made.  This is because we provide fresh foods which take time to produce and it is difficult to accomodate changes after this time.

We know that life happens, so if you run into an emergency that requires a last minute change to your subscription, you need to contact us by phone at 406-285-8939 to coordinate. Otherwise you can make changes online using your account.

Payments

We use a payment processor called Farmigo to handle the financial transactions between our customers and the farm. Each customer has an account. This enables them to manage their subscription, including selecting the size of the box, the selections they receive in each box, and choose the pickup/delivery location. They can cancel or pause their subscription through their account.

We ask that you maintain a card on file so that your account can be automatically charged after your box is delivered. If your payment is declined, we reserve the right to cancel all future deliveries as well as pursue collection of any outstanding balance.

Changing Your Subscription

Changes to your subscription need to be done prior to the order deadline.  Once the store is closed, we ask that you proceed with the selections that were made.  If you have a schedule conflict and cannot pickup a box or will not be available, you are welcome to have the box picked up by friends or family.  If you need to cancel or pause your subscription, this must also be done before the store opens and your card is charged.

Substitution

We will always do our best to fulfill your farm box as you ordered.  There are infrequent cases where a product is not available due to issues with the harvest or availability of ingredients.  We will substitute a product of the same or higher value and the same or higher quality if this does occur. We will do our best to reach out to you to notify you of the substitution, but in order to provide your box in a timely manner we may not always be able to contact you ahead of time.

Packaging

We have selected cardboard farm boxes and polyethylene frozen food bags to protect your order and make sure your food is received in great condition.  Your farm box and the frozen food bags are more expensive than you would think, and they can be re-used multiple times.  We reserve the right to charge $10 for any that are not returned.

If you would like to pickup your delivery in your own bag and not use our box, you are welcome to do that!

Refunds

If you believe you deserve a credit for poor quality, damaged, or otherwise unusable produce, please email us. We will evaluate cases individually. Be sure to include what day/time you received the produce, how it was stored, and pictures if possible. We want to share the best quality produce possible, so your feedback helps us improve our systems and catch issues early on.

Communications between Farm and Member

The best way to communicate with us is the following:

Email: otfarmstand@gmail.com

Text/Phone: 406-285-8939

We will do our best to respond as soon as possible, but please understand that we have limited staff and spend much of our time producing your food, so we are not always able to send an immediate response.

We will communicate with you primarily by email. When you sign up, you will be added to our distribution list. Please regularly read your email. We will send regular updates on your farm box.  We also send text message reminders from a separate phone number.

Please add michael@oldtownfarmstand.com to your address book so that messages we send are not sent to your spam.

We depend on being able to communicate by email important information such as necessary changes to your distribution schedule or notices of events.

Each of our members hereby releases, indemnifies and agrees to hold harmless Old Town Farmstand, its owners, agents and employees from any and all claims, damage and/or liability he or she might suffer from being on the farm property, being at any of the pick-up locations or from the purchase of a subscription, including but not limited to, the use or consumption of any food provided by the Old Town Farmstand.

Disputes

All claims and disputes arising under or relating to this Agreement are to be first submitted for mediation through the Montana Department of Agriculture (MDA) Ag Mediation Program.  If a satisfactory resolution cannot be reached, both parties agree that the liability of Old Town Farmstand will be limited to the value of the products purchased or services delivered.
